Dr. Ahmed is a therapeutic optometrist who received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from UIW Rosenberg School of Optometry. She graduated cum laude with a B.S. in biology from Temple University and also obtained minor in Psychology.
In optometry school her externship sites included Veterans Hospital in Salem, Virginia, which focused on primary care optometry while also providing in patient services, and Kozlovsky, Delay, and Winter Eye Consultants in San Antonio, a well-known ophthalmology –optometry practice, which focused on emergency eye care, and pre and post op cataract surgery in addition to primary eye care. After graduating from Optometry school, she pursued additional training and completed her residency in Ocular Disease and Low Vision Rehabilitation from Hampton Veterans Hospital, Hampton, Virginia. During residency she received additional training in ocular diseases and low vision services while also taking part in community outreach programs. After completion of her residency she also received her certification as Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, and certification in Advanced Competence in Medical Optometry.
Currently Dr. Ahmed works in the Irving area where she offers comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings including soft and rigid gas permeable lens, annual diabetic dilated exams, pediatric vision exams, and ocular disease treatment and management. She welcomes new patients and looks forward to work with you and your family.
